The book critically discusses the complex interplay between religions and human rights in Italy: it addresses two historical cases in Italy, namely the Waldesian and Jewish communities and then it expands its analysis to current immigration flows with a special focus on the Muslim community. Through an interdisciplinary approach, the book argues that the recognition of religious freedom as a human right can be an effective instrument to build a peaceful and respectful coexistence within a multicultural country.
