A method for evaluating the pulse per second (PPS)-based synchronization of a radar for unmanned aerial systems (UAS) applications is presented. An RF switch driven by the PPS signal marks the radar data, in such a way as to provide a comparison with the internally-assigned timestamps. An estimate of both the accuracy and uncertainty is made, resulting in about 4 ns and 0.6 μs respectively.

Abstract
A method for evaluating the pulse per second (PPS)-based synchronization of a radar for unmanned aerial systems (UAS) applications is presented. An RF switch driven by the PPS signal marks the radar data, in such a way as to provide a comparison with the internally-assigned timestamps. An estimate of both the accuracy and uncertainty is made, resulting in about 4 ns and 0.6 μs respectively.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
