The article aims at contextualizing the new National Programs in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) education for Italian primary and lower secondary schools into the most recent historical developments. For reaching such a scope, the methodological contribution offered by the Begriffgeschichte (History of Concept) will be taken into account.
