The "Old Church" [of Yeghegis]. An Archaeological Stratigraphic Analysis

Presentation of the results of the light archaeology and masonry stratigraphy research on the earliest church of the medieval village of Yeghegis. Attested from the ninth century, with eleventh-century modifications, the so-called “Old Church” emerges as a key element of the built landscape, associated with two local dynasties: the Princes of Syunik and the Bagratid rulers of Ani.
