The paper focuses on developing a logical model for selecting Decision Support System (DSS) software in the agricultural sector. This model aims to address the challenges identified in existing literature, such as the lack of evaluation methodologies and information, which often leads to a mismatch between expectations and outcomes. By creating a logical framework that assesses company-specific needs and know-how, the study proposes a tailored software selection tool. This approach is validated through a comprehensive analysis involving literature review, surveys of software developers, and the creation of a feature database based on ISO/IEC 25010:2011 standards and software comparisons. The model utilizes the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) methodology with Superdecision software for the practical comparison of DSS options. The effectiveness of the developed model is tested through seven case studies on vineyards primarily in Tuscany, offering insights into future developments and potential improvements in the decision-making process for agricultural enterprises seeking to adopt DSS technologies.
