To date, the discipline of international restoration has not yet elaborated and recognized a common language, lead-ing over time to the formulation of different terminologies. The first attempts are represented by the Charters of Res-toration, promoted by the scientific community, to establish common rules for the good practice of conservation of cultural heritage. In 1977, on the initiative of the Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche (CNR) and the Istituto Centrale per il Restauro (ICR), the NorMaL Commission (Stone Artefacts Regulations) was created to identify specific actions for the conservation) of stone materials. The work of the Committee, divided into the various conservation problems and intervention methodologies, involved specialists from various scientific disciplines and it represented a unique example at international level. The results of the commissions initially merged into the normal Recommendations, used in Italy for decades, in which it is given the definition of a selection of lemmas related to the degradation of stone materials and where a first partition between the categories of degradation is proposed. The documents pro-duced were subsequently recognized and made official by the Italian National Standards Body UNI, thus assuming the character of a standard Italian. This contribution aims to investigate some of the events that led to the definition and drafting of the main regulatory instruments, for the definition of a lexicon and a shared methodology of inter-vention on cultural heritage, from the seventies of the twentieth century to the two thousand.

Abstract
This contribution aims to investigate some of the events that led to the definition and drafting of the main regulatory instruments, for the definition of a lexicon and a shared methodology of inter-vention on cultural heritage, from the seventies of the twentieth century to the two thousand.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
