Femmi(ni)cidio. La parabola filosofica di un concetto politico a partire dai contributi di autrici femministe delle Americhe

This study seeks to develop a ‘political’ conceptualisation of the phenomenon of ‘femicide’, or the killing of women on the basis of gender. The study analyses the work of Diana Russell, Marcela Lagarde, Julia Monárrez Fragoso, Rita Segato and Verónica Gago in particular. These authors are all united by their attempt to politically define the phenomenon of the killing of women, through a very common trope in political philosophy: that of developing hypotheses regarding the form taken by ‘power’ in a specific historical context, starting from a ‘phenomenology of violence’. Although this research relies almost exclusively on textual analysis, an attempt has been made to contextualise the selected contributions within the socio-political landscape of their time.
