L'arte di condurre le acque. Giardini storici e sistemi idraulici nel contesto paesaggistico di Villa La Quiete

ITA Il volume rende conto di un particolare filone di studi, intrapresi nell’ambito del laboratorio di ricerca interdisciplinare attivato per e sul giardino di Villa La Quiete a seguito del restauro su fondi PNRR. Il tema della conoscenza, cura e conservazione dei sistemi idraulici storici costituisce un aspetto cruciale nel restauro di un giardino. Per affrontarlo, al di là delle imprescindibili indagini dirette e indirette, è necessario contestualizzare la ricerca all’interno di un più ampio orizzonte di riferimenti interdisciplinari. Il libro raccoglie quindi una selezione di contributi specialistici sui giardini medicei, in primis quello di Luigi Zangheri, oltre agli esiti degli studi svolti dal gruppo di ricercatori e ricercatrici che hanno lavorato in archivio e sul campo per approfondire le conoscenze sul sistema idraulico del giardino delle Montalve. L’intreccio tra riflessioni teoriche, rilievi e sperimentazioni in vivo è sembrata l’unica modalità per riuscire ad affrontare la complessità di un luogo patrimoniale vivente e in evoluzione come il giardino di Villa La Quiete. ENG This volume presents a particular line of research undertaken within the interdisciplinary research laboratory established for and on the garden of Villa La Quiete following its restoration funded by the National Research Council (PNRR). The knowledge, care, and conservation of historic hydraulic systems is a crucial aspect of garden restoration. To address this issue, beyond the essential direct and indirect investigations, it is necessary to contextualize the research within a broader horizon of interdisciplinary references. The book therefore brings together a selection of specialist contributions on the Medici gardens, primarily that of Luigi Zangheri, as well as the results of studies conducted by the group of researchers who worked in the archives and in the field to deepen their understanding of the hydraulic system of the Montalve garden. The interplay of theoretical reflections, surveys, and live experiments seemed the only way to successfully address the complexity of a living and evolving heritage site like the garden of Villa La Quiete.
