In this thesis, an attempt was made to study genetic profiles using high-throughput sequencing technologies (HTS) to identify potential susceptibility factors for COVID-19 (COronaVIrus Disease 2019) and Vaccine-Induced Thrombotic Thrombocytopenia (VITT), a rare thrombotic condition associated with adenoviral-based vaccination against SARS-CoV-2. The use of HTS is a useful tool for determining the genetic background of individuals, and the information acquired at multiple loci could help define categories of individuals characterised by greater or lesser susceptibility to SARS-CoV-2 infection and VITT syndrome.
