Abstract

Ca++ oscillations in AD cells could be seen as responsible for a plethora of metabolic events among which the alterations of TK and APP might parallel and be linked to unbalanced cysteine-proteinase activities. The attempt to correlate and discuss apparently distinct biochemical AD markers might provide a bulk of information potentially useful for further insights into the pathogenesis and diagnosis of this disease.
