In this paper the authors propose a numerical model of the test rig for brake discs and shoes actually in use by Trenitalia SPA. The model has been developed in order to study future enhancements and specifications for a new test rig, that will build in the centre of excellence for railway research of Osmannoro (Florence) by Trenitalia SPA. Numerical model validation is obtained through experimental data measured on the actual test rig. Authors have focused their attention on the problems concerning mechanical and electrical train subsystems modelling. The effects on model dynamics of vehicle inertial and adhesion properties are also investigated.

Abstract
In this paper the authors propose a numerical model of the test rig for brake discs and shoes actually in use by Trenitalia SPA. The model has been developed in order to study future enhancements and specifications for a new test rig, that will build in the centre of excellence for railway research of Osmannoro (Florence) by Trenitalia SPA. Numerical model validation is obtained through experimental data measured on the actual test rig. Authors have focused their attention on the problems concerning mechanical and electrical train subsystems modelling. The effects on model dynamics of vehicle inertial and adhesion properties are also investigated.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
