In this paper the main characteristics of a test rig based on AMB is proposed and discussed in comparison with the traditional ones. An identification algorithm is then set up in order to perform the best estimation of linearised stiffness and damping coefficient of the tested seal and simulations, demonstrating the performance of the proposed test rig, are presented and discussed.
