Libri di pietra. Città e memorie

Abstract.it Il libro esplora la dimensione temporale della città, vista come «passato divenuto spazio», secondo la nota definizione di Walter Benjamin. La prima parte è dedicata all'analisi delle diversi modi in cui viene «spazializzata» la memoria nel tessuto urbano. Nella seconda parte si osserva la città come un testo, secondo le suggestioni del discorso semiotico (Roland Barthes, Umberto Eco). In particolare si guarda alla città come «testo della memoria», o come «teatro della memoria» (Aldo Rossi). Nella terza parte si prendono in esame tre città esemplari per il loro costituire dei «teatri della memoria»: L'Avana. Atene e Berlino. Abstract.engl The book analyses the temporal dimension of the city: «past became space», as Walter Benjamin defined Paris's passages. The first part of the book is dedicated to the analyze of the ways by which memory is inserted in the urban space. In the second part the city is observed as a text, as Barthes's and Eco's semiotic discourse suggests. The city is seen as a “memory text», or as a «memory theater» (Aldo Rossi). In the third part of the book three cities are analyzed as “memory theaters»: La Habana, Athens and Berlin.
