The adsorption of ClO- 4 ion on liquid gallium from aqueous solutions of (NaClO4 + HClO4) of concentrations ranging from 0.01 to 5.62 M was determined on the basis of capacitive charge measurements carried out by a computerized chronocoulometric technique. At electrolyte concentrations < 1 M, perchlorate ion is adsorbed non-sperifically, the Gouy-Chapman-Grahame theory applies over the whole accessible range of charge densities, and the potential of zero charge is constant and equal to -(920 ± 5) mV/MCE. Only at ClO- 4 concentrations ≥1 M does anionic positive specific adsorption start to be felt.

Abstract
Only at ClO- 4 concentrations ≥1 M does anionic positive specific adsorption start to be felt.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
