The normal and surface enhanced resonance Raman spectra of idarubicin, epirubicin and their complexes with DNA have been measured. The results are correlated with previous studies on adriamycin and 11-deoxycarminomycin. The combined analysis allowed us to propose the same model of binding with the silver colloid surface and the same structure of intercalative complex with DNA for the four antracyclines.
