In this paper, we investigate the performance of a transceiver based on wavelet packet modulation in presence of a carrier frequency offset. We propose a theoretical model to compute the error probability in the case of an uniform frequency subdivision, considering both the AWGN channel and an arbitrary frequency-selective channel. Then, we extend the proposed method to deal with nonuniform, i.e. wavelet, transceivers. The accuracy of the model is evaluated by means of computer simulations.

Abstract

In this paper, we investigate the performance of a transceiver based on wavelet packet modulation in presence of a carrier frequency offset. We propose a theoretical model to compute the error probability in the case of an uniform frequency subdivision, considering both the AWGN channel and an arbitrary frequency-selective channel. Then, we extend the proposed method to deal with nonuniform, i.e. wavelet, transceivers. The accuracy of the model is evaluated by means of computer simulations.
