The main topic of this PhD thesis is the development of a computational method suitable for evaluating tone noise emissions of a low pressure turbine. The implemented method is based on the aeroacoustic solver Lars which was integrated in a proper propagation pro- cedure. It was developed in both quasi three-dimensional and fully three-dimensional forms. In this thesis the validation of this procedure is presented by comparing the numerical re- sults with the acoustic data measured at Avio cold flow rig. The currently implemented procedure seems to be suitable for direct application to industrial problems and ready to be included inside the engine design loop.
