Abstract

In recent years the development of powerful electronic aids has brought about a radical change in the process of medical education, determining a shift from a uni-dimensional learning procedure (one involving only a single sense) to a multi-dimensional one (one involving various senses, and not only passively, but actively). This electronic revolution has also produced a more rapid circulation of information, so that these last few years have been defined as the "information age", to indicate a period based upon the quick dissemination of knowledge and the progressive computerization of work instruments.
