In this note, a conditioned transfer technique for switching control schemes is introduced. A controller state-reinitialization procedure is described which minimize a performance-oriented quadratic cost. With the optimization routine performed off-line, the resulting multi-controller realization has a low computational load. The proposed technique allows the designer to trade off performance vs. memory, even when the process to be controlled is described by a continuous distribution of models. A numerical example is provided to substantiate the analysis.

Abstract

In this note, a conditioned transfer technique for switching control schemes is introduced. A controller state-reinitialization procedure is described which minimize a performance-oriented quadratic cost. With the optimization routine performed off-line, the resulting multi-controller realization has a low computational load. The proposed technique allows the designer to trade off performance vs. memory, even when the process to be controlled is described by a continuous distribution of models. A numerical example is provided to substantiate the analysis.
