This research aims to analyse an unpublished work of Russian Aesthetic Thought, the treatise "Otkrovenie Iskusstva" (a1930-37), written by N.N. Evreinov, during his exile in France. The text, being regarded as an attempt to build a complete philosophical interpretation of the experience of art, stands ad a remarkably interesting source when studying cultural heritage left by the Russian emigrants of the first wave. In order to provide a wide critical insight into this work, the research is divided in two sections. The first part is intended to be a complete introduction to the life and work of the author, a widely known Russian director of the Avnt-garde, as well as playwright, theoreticianp f art and theatre. The second section is dedicated to the critical analysis of "Otkrovenie Iskusstva: beginning fron its stylistic and lexical features, the thesis delves deeper into the pure philosophical-aesthetical contents of the work. The retroactive comparison to earlier theatrical thoughts by the author, is here considered as the main interpretational key, although all sorts of influences are taken into consideration, including the author's deep involvement in the Russian Masonic movement in Paris during the Thirties. This thesis is also provided with a number of appendixes: the transcription of one chapter of the treatise, and a glossary of the most significant terms to help the reader gather a full outline of Evreinov's aesthetical conceptions.
