The volume collects several articles by Giuseppe Colombo, president of Edison, since the 80s of 19th century to the First World War. They cover arguments on technologies of electricity prodution and transmission and on the develompent of urban electric lighting in Milan. The preface frames these texts in the beginnings of the commercial electricity in the world, and decribes the original path of the Edison development, driven by the enterpreneurial spirit of Giuseppe Colombo.
