Review of Testenoire's two volumes on Saussure's anagrams. In the first volume, the author edited the complete corpus of Saussure’s manuscripts related to the anagrammatic research on Homeric poetry. In the second volume, the author offers a detailed commentary of the texts presented in the first volume. In the second volume, the author gives a historiographical overview of the Saussure’s hypothesis on anagrams and examines it by a historical, methodological and epistemological perspective, in order to determine the theoretical issues of these researches.
