The particular nature of the Internet, which aims to create participative networks, is rapidly affecting the cycle of creation and access to scientific knowledge and facilitating the explicitation of tacit knowledge that were not accessible before. At the same time the rising abundance of digital resources requires the refining of appropriate skills in the information management. In the text, is highlighted which are the main reference standards in the field of information literacy, also in correlation with some significant technologies born to organize and to manage the knowledge.
