The new purposeful identitarian awareness for the twenty-first century: Valorize themselves in the Life Construction from youth to adulthood and late adulthood

The present chapter introduces the new identitarian purposeful awareness for the twenty-first century as new post-modern essential reference, successful keystone for the current complexity. Starting from the two key post-modern competences adaptability and identity (Guichard, 2013; Savickas, 2013), through the narrative identity of Savickas (2011, 2013) and plural identities of Guichard (2008, 2010, 2013), it is enhanced the new identitarian purposeful awareness of identity essential for the 21st century. The new identitarian purposeful awareness is a fundamental challenge in the 21st century to construct a successful personal and professional life on the basis of a life meaningfulness. The chapter delineates four fundamental steps for the successful construction of the identitarian purposeful awareness: Self-presentation strategies; plural narrative quadrature of competences; plural narrative hexagonal levels; Authentic Self. Furthermore the new identitarian purposeful awareness strengthens the Intrapreneurial Self-Capital, a new career and life construct for the 21st century. The reflection underlines the importance to valorise themselves in the Life Construction (Guichard, 2013) from youth to adulthood and late adulthood. Enhancing and reinforcing one’s own resources in one’s one authentic expression is a way to protect them in order to obtain personal greater well-being and to increase value to the community each belongs at any stage of one’s one life in a process of life construction and re-construction.
