L’ordre des clitiques objets dans les variétés corses

This article aims to propose an analysis of the object clitics and of the variations in their order in connection with verbal modality in Corsican dialects. In these dialects the clitic strings present two possible combinations, i.e. accusative>dative/ 1/2 clitics order in declarative contexts and 1/2p clitics/ dative>accusative order in the imperative and negative contexts. We start from the analysis proposed in Manzini & Savoia (2005), assuming that the different orders depend on different syntactic domains lexicalised by imperative and negation. The distribution of the clitics in the contexts associated with proclisis and enclisis brings to light their interpretive properties as participants to the event.
