The 15 years since the adoption of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) have seen profound economic and geopolitical international changes. These have led to a new international consensus on development. The chapter is devoted to this major evolution and its implications for the financing of development. More precisely, it describes the different financing instruments (both new and old) and raises the question of the role of aid from new and traditional development stakeholders in international development financing.
