The essay examines the sound recordings made in Italy during the fifties of the last century. During these operations have emerged numerous pieces of tape, otherwise ignored, from which information can be retrieved very important; therefore, this contribution is called “Recording Out-Takes”. The historical-cultural scenario in which the recordings were made is limited to the years 1954- 1960, in some remote areas in the Southern Italy, in the work of two great documentarists such as Alan Lomax and Diego Carpitella.
