The aim of this paper is to describe a particular aspect of Hittite economy that is mainly based on agriculture and the administration of the lands. Although the king was the emblematic administrator of the Hittite kingdom, social classes and groups of power, especially noblemen and clergy, were effectively controlling the territory and influencing the system of production.
