La casa Comune di Fiesole: trasformazioni nella storia per il riuso

The Palace of the Municipality of Fiesole, the original fourteenth-century house of Podesta, has undergone modifications and extensions over time because of its different uses. Built on the ancient Roman forum, the original public building has been profoundly transformed since 1463, the year in which you have the construction of the Podesta residence in Fiesole. Over the centuries the fate of the palace, as the square on which it stands, is always linked to politics and the fortunes of Florence, since the foundation of the Roman Florentia. Over time, the Renaissance palace, for the needs related to its public office ̶ house of Podesta, district court, school, museum, town hall ̶ has had to adapt to them, becoming and expanding, as many modifications has suffered the square where the building is located and with which now shares a long history. The recent survey allows the Municipal Administration, as well as to learn more about the history of the Municipal House, to program the interventions, for its adaptation to modern work standards and a maintenance plan of the buildings.
