This paper is devoted to discussing Birgit Sandkaulen's contribution in the same volume. The issue at stake concerns the twofold way in which human beings can approach the unconditioned, either returning back to the origin (Jacobi) or moving forward to the final accomplishment (Schelling, Hegel).
