La luce e l'opaco. Italo Calvino

In a short autobiographical prose work, “Dall’opaco”, in La strada di San Giovanni, Italo Calvino describes an essential cartography of his own writing, through the topological nature of his Ligurian landscape. Cartography represents the bipolar and symmetrical structure in the bipolar system Light (d’int’aprico) / Shade (d’int’ubagu). $is kind of structure involves all the Calvinian macrotest (I/world, interior/exterior, inside/outside) on an epistemological, ethical, cognitive and metaphorical level, through a dynamism which eludes distinct and de#nite boundaries. speci#cally, we would like to present the reading.of some stories from Cosmicomiche (“Sul far del giorno”, “Senza colori”) and Palomar (“La spada del sole”), thinking about the Einsteinian idea of riding light”.
