Several researchers have documented the role of personality traits in predicting health outcomes. This study aims to investigate the role of Emotional stability (low neuroticism), Self-Esteem and Intrapreneurial Self-Capital in contributing to adaptive outcomes. The current investigation utilized a sample of 141 white collar workers to examine whether Emotional Stability (low Neuroticism) and Self-Esteem predict the Flourishing dimension as an adaptive outcome. Furthermore, in the same sample, the role of Intrapreneurial Self-Capital was analyzed in relation to Emotional stability (low neuroticism) and Flourishing. The first hypothesized model, with Emotional stability (low neuroticism) and Self-Esteem as independent variables and Flourishing as predicted variable, indicated a poor mediation role of Self-Esteem. The second hypothesized model showed the strong role of Intrapreneurial Self-Capital as a mediator between Emotional stability (low neuroticism) and Flourishing. Findings demonstrated that a full understanding of the link between personality traits, in this case Emotional stability (low neuroticism), psychological resources and health, requires the consideration of different models, and that the new construct of Intrapreneurial Self-Capital showed an important role in contributing to adaptive outcomes.
