Vernacular heritage represents a great resource that has significant potential to define principles for sustainable design and contemporary architecture. The main objective of the project was to gain knowledge from these fundamental lessons and principles of the vernacular heritage, and to explore new ways of integrating those principles into contemporary sustainable architecture.This chapter describes aims and results of the project.
