This paper points out a path from waters’ invisibility to its presence in the whole world, looking at little wetlands, peat-bogs, and Mediterranean wetlands. The wetlands’ ecological importance – finally acknowledged- is today crucial for climate changes’ mitigations. Many contradictions and many ambiguities remain open, especially about the concept of “nature” and about the local community and global society relationship with nature. The author carries out this articleexpecting a further ontological turn, taking into consideration the waters’ agency and its vitality in the Earth. “Land of water” (terre d’acqua) exactly means this intense dialogue between Water and the Earth.
