Analysis of pilot Study Circles and their multidimensional sustainability

Taking into account the five dimensions of sustainability: social, ecological, economic, educational and institutional, the paper presents a critical overview of non-formal education activities implemented by the Study Circles project. Once defined the above mentioned dimensions on the basis of the international organizations’ official documents, activities and products of the pilot study circle are accordingly analyzed. The main goal is to show how the implemented non formal adult education initiatives have contributed to the spreading of a culture of sustainability in local communities as well as to the fine tuning of the declarations of intent withlocal action plans and projects. The article includes a summary sheet for each study circle showing through keywords the main features and elements of sustainability.
