The essay analyzes the characteristics of the architectural backdrop of the painting, a work that takes place at the beginning of Vasari's career when the artist has not yet dealt with architecture, however showing a marked sensitivity for the hierarchization of space and for reflections on the most innovative compositional themes of his time. There is also an osmotic exchange between painted architecture and real architecture, with solutions that will be found, in fact, a few years later in Villa Giulia in Rome.
