Mapping esperienziale del centro storico di Firenze: le trasformazioni della scena urbana, dell’immagine e dell’immaginario

The paper illustrates the research "FirenzeImagingMap," which the Digital Cultural Heritage- DigitCH group started in 2016 with the aim of mapping, through architectural surveys and smart representations, the architectural transformations that some places in the historic center of Florence have faced for some time due to the pressure of mass tourism. The study examines a central and deeply representative urban place of the Florentine genius loci, examined in the material and immaterial characteristics that conform its perception. The proposal to intervene on the gap between the risk of the trivialization of places and the development of a personal and deep acquisition of knowledge is strongly supported by the methods and tools of the Survey → Drawing → Representation cycle for the survey of the current urban scene (through indirect survey and photographic and audio-video acquisition); the data are represented by the detailed 2D and 3D descriptions of the places sampled in the dedicated app.
