In this chapter I aim to explore the emotional rhetoric permeating competing narratives of Waldensian martyrdom and marginalization. I concentrate on the little-known vicissitudes and deeply touching letters from prison of Sebastian Bazan, an adoptive son of the Waldensian valleys.
