The chapter consists in a survey on the documented multi-author epigram collections. Evidence includes, besides the major and better known anthologies and their descendants, papyri from the 3rd century B.C. to the 6th century A.D. and various information provided by ancient authors. The survey will follow a double approach: each anthology will be analysed both individually and as part of an history, with a special attention to the criteria of selection and arrangement of epigrams through the centuries.
