Istanze della conservazione, istanze della contemporaneità. Riflessioni per la tutela dell’architettura minore

L'intervento affronta la questione della tutela dell'architettura minore di fronte alle nuove sollecitazioni della contemporaneità. La riflessione ruota attorno alla constatazione che il valore storico documentale e le sue componenti (matericità, forme, colori, proporzioni, spazi, tecniche costruttive, modi dell'abitare), non sono sempre unanimemente riconosciuti, né le istanze di conservazione sono sempre anteposte alle altre istanze dell'abitare contemporaneo. Assunto che nei confronti dell'edilizia storica l'approccio debba essere nuovamente quello del miglioramento, questo intervento cerca di delineare la fenomenologia del problema e si interroga sui metodi con cui attuare interventi realmente compatibili con la conservazione del costruito storico e sui metodi di diffusione di una rinnovata cultura di rispetto. Un rapido excursus nel resto d'Europa tenta di farci comprendere se esistono differenti approcci alla questione laddove l'efficientamento energetico è già un tema più maturo di quanto non lo sia in Italia. / Contemporary preservation instances and issues: reflections on the safeguarding of non-monumental architecture. This paper deals with the issue of preserving non-monumental architecture faced with new contemporary demands. Its considerations are based on the understanding that their documentary historical value and its elements (i.e. material consistency, shapes, colours, proportions, spaces, construction techniques, living patterns) are not always unanimously recognised and that, similarly, preservation applications are not always given priority over others for modern-day living. Given than the approach to historic buildings should once more be aimed at their ‘improvement’, this paper attempts to outline the phenomenology of the problem and raises questions concerning the proper methods to be used in improvement work that is truly compatible with the conservation of our historic building heritage, and concerning the way a renewed culture of respect is being promoted. A short overview of what happens in the rest of Europe helps us understand whether there are other approaches to this issue in countries where the topic of energy efficiency has already been given more priority than in Italy.
