This work presents new analyses on the relationship between student evaluation of teaching and student, teacher and course specific characteristics, exploiting the richness of information collected by a new survey carried out among professors of the University of Padua. Data collected in this survey are able to highlight teacher needs, beliefs and practices of teaching and learning. This allows to introduce in the study some subjective traits of the teachers. The role of these new variables in explaining student evaluations is deeply investigated.

The role of these new variables in explaining student evaluations is deeply investigated.
