Abstract
In the landscape of cinematographic images, ‘sizing’ could be read as one mise-en-scène mode. It gets the spectators closer to the showcased objects, promoting them and revealing their ability to attract the audience at both sensorial and emotional levels. A small corpus of Italian and American fashion newsreels from the Istituto Luce’s archive are examined in terms of formal contrasts in their shooting techniques: their approaches to sizing embody the two cultural contexts and imageries.I documenti in FLORE sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
