English translation of an original research presented on no. 2 of 1983 in the magazine "Oltre il Ponte" (Issn 1827-2460). A seminal paper that presented a research carried out on Veneto, in Italy, on urban sprawl processes. The research proposes to interpret the new settlement model, born from the abandonment of the agricultural management system and the birth of a widespread industrialization, as "urban sprawls" and the start of a new "city" no longer compact, but widespread. Hence the launch of the concept of "città diffusa".

Abstract

English translation of an original research presented on no. 2 of 1983 in the magazine "Oltre il Ponte" (Issn 1827-2460). A seminal paper that presented a research carried out on Veneto, in Italy, on urban sprawl processes. The research proposes to interpret the new settlement model, born from the abandonment of the agricultural management system and the birth of a widespread industrialization, as "urban sprawls" and the start of a new "city" no longer compact, but widespread. Hence the launch of the concept of "città diffusa".
