Isolation and reconnection. Ten bridges at La Maddalena. Isolamento e riconnessione. Dieci ponti a La Maddalena

After the demilitarization and the failed relaunch entrusted to the exclusive Yacht Club, that was supposed to be inaugurated by hosting the G8 headquarters, local authorities and the Region of Sardinia have been wondering about possible solutions for the redevelopment of the former Arsenale area in La Maddalena Eterotopia was one of these initiatives organized and coordinated by an international group of young architects that, held in the form of a workshop in September 2018, tried to imagine scenarios and solutions in response to eight different themes, entrusted to as many working groups. This book contains the results of one of these teams who, under the authors' guidance, addressed the theme of Isolation and Reconnection by developing ten bridge projects for the La Maddalena archipelago. In the pages of the book, there is no trace of architectural solutions, but figurations of reconnection of the insular isolation that are staged debatable meetings between humanity and nature. Therefore the book is a critical essay rather than an illustration of projects debating possible ways of trampling the world in the era of catastrophe. The suggested and adopted method is based on fictional narrative and metaphorical artifices as productive devices of creative criticism and alternative tools capable of welcoming, into the world's project, a renewed aesthetic attitude contrasting or validating the science and experts' indisputable truths. *** Dopo la smilitarizzazione e il mancato rilancio affidato all'esclusivo Yacht Club che avrebbe dovuto essere inaugurato ospitando la sede del G8, da diversi anni enti locali e la Regione Sardegna s’interrogano su possibili soluzioni per la riqualificazione dell'area ex Arsenale a La Maddalena. Eterotopia è stata una di queste iniziative organizzata e coordinata da un gruppo internazionale di giovani architetti che, tenutosi sotto forma di workshop nel settembre del 2018, ha cercato d’immaginare scenari e soluzioni in risposta a otto differenti temi, affidati ad altrettanti gruppi di lavoro. Questo libro contiene i risultati di uno di questi team che, sotto la guida degli autori, ha affrontato il tema Insularity. Isolamento e Riconnessione sviluppando dieci progetti di ponti per l'arcipelago di La Maddalena. Nelle pagine del libro non c'è traccia di soluzioni architettoniche, ma figurazioni di riconnessione dell'isolamento insulare che mettono in scena riunioni discutibili tra umanità e natura. Il libro è pertanto un saggio critico piuttosto che illustrazione di progetti con riflessioni sui possibili modi di calpestare il mondo nell'era della catastrofe e sulle relative metodologie operative. Il metodo suggerito e adottato si basa su artifici finzionali narrativi e metaforici quali dispositivi produttivi di critica creativa e strumenti alternativi atti ad accogliere, nel progetto del mondo, un rinnovato atteggiamento estetico a contrasto o a validazione delle inoppugnabili verità delle scienze e degli esperti.
