Sicurezza, migranti e porti chiusi nei titoli della stampa quotidiana online (19 maggio-28 luglio 2019)

Questo contributo intende rendere conto, in termini quantitativi e qualitativi, del trattamento delle parole "migranti", "sicurezza" e "porti chiusi" nei titoli apparsi nelle pagine online dei principali quotidiani italiani in un arco di tempo di 10 settimane (dal 19 maggio 2019 al 28 luglio 2019). Tale raccolta è stata effettuata attraverso la consultazione del portale rassegnastampaquotidiani.com, interrogato con cadenza regolare impostando la ricerca su ciascuna delle parole-chiave: su questa raccolta di titoli si è indagato poi, oltre che sulla frequenza assoluta delle singole occorrenze, sulle parole co-occorrenti (collocazioni), cercando di far emergere le idee e le immagini che più spesso vengono associate alle parole scelte e che contribuiscono così alla costruzione di stereotipi e pregiudizi nell’opinione pubblica. This contribution aims to account, in quantitative and qualitative terms, for the treatment of the words “migrants,” “security,” and “closed ports” in the headlines that appeared in the online pages of major Italian newspapers over a 10-week period of time (from May 19, 2019 to July 28, 2019). This collection was carried out through consultation of the portal rassegnastampaquotidiani.com, queried on a regular basis by setting the search on each of the key-words: on this collection of headlines we then investigated, in addition to the absolute frequency of individual occurrences, the co-occurring words (collocations), trying to bring out the ideas and images that are most often associated with the chosen words and thus contribute to the construction of stereotypes and prejudices in public opinion.
