The paper discuss the evidence from textile production installations around the ancient Mediterranean to find out a typolgy according to the various phases of the chaine opératoire and of the scale of production. Evidence ranges from Minoan Crete to Bronze and Iron Age Levant, Classical and Hellenistic greece and Roman times.
