The essay analyzes the architectural elements present in the painting and in the two preparatory drawings of the Louvre and the GDSU, according to the forma mentis and the hermeneutic tools of the history of architecture. An analysis of this kind, completely new, leads to reconsider some aspects of the painting with direct repercussions on the iconographic and iconological exegesis of the work.

Abstract
