This chapter analyses some crucial problems of Italian fascism and its relationship with nationalism from two standpoints: the impact of the disintegration of the Habsburg Empire and its legacy; the problem of the land and fascist relationship to the rural world. The analysis of the conservative and radical dynamics of fascism is carried out in a comparative and transnational perspective, with special attention to East Central and South-Eastern Europe.

Abstract
