This essay presents the project ‘Bo2022’, an online database of students and professors of the University of Padua, from its foundation in 1222 to the 20 th century. After a brief history of this institution, the contribution focusses on the features of the web-platform used for data structuring and input (nodegoat), as well as on the treatment of information provided by historical sources, which is needed to both adapt it to the database structure and keep its information capacity. The essay also illustrates the project of a cross-search European database, currently under development
