Argumentation in political discourse

This article addresses the relation between political discourse and argumentation, i.e. the linguistic procedure through which a thesis is motivated. Actually, political discourse is based on the ability to exploit and valorize the common system of values and beliefs shared by the interlocutors. Moreover, much of political discourse renounces the argumentative structure and coincides with elliptic expressions interpretable by virtue of the feelings and beliefs implicated in the context.
